Receiver : Echostar DSB-2110 2ci via*ccess

Having problems updating a FreeX-TV cam with Joker V1.16 by Kamilz on a FunCard7 (Prussian5). The current problem is that when I switch on the IRD with the cam & card inserted and on a FTA channel sometimes I get the prompt:-

Use this smartcard to update module?

The two options No and Yes are displayed with No being the default.

But I cannot navigate to the Yes option.

If I press the down button on the remote control or the front of the IRD the "channel down" function is being executed. The channel moves down one and the common interface update option/prompt is exited.

Earlier I did somehow manage to get it to select the Yes option to update the cam from the smartcard but I do not have a clue how I did.

The cam did appear to update as I could go into the CI menu and see it had initialised. Plus I could see the version, channels options when I pressed select/ok on the remote.

However I tried to update the cam again as it was not clearing channels.

This time I think I did not leave the file/cam long enough as I later found info on the internet that some Echostar receivers don't give feedback on the cam update progress and you have to leave the cam/card in for at least 4 minutes.

Now when the IRD powers up with the Joker/Ice cam in it, the cam appears to initialise as it is displayed in the common interface menu as "Module" but I cannot select and get any options by pressing the okay button.

I was hoping to perform the cam update again from the FunCard7 but think I will have to erase the cam first. I have a "Jokererasev1" zip archive which has a loader for the flash and two FunCard4 eeproms. Is there a method of converting the two Funcard4 eeprom files into one FunCard5 eeprom file which I can load onto my FunCard7.

you have to use cas interface 2 or 3 with the extention for joker cams. Then it is very easy.;-)
