Optus D1 is supposed to be launched on 19th September 2006. This the platform NewZealand freeTV will be using for NZ TV-1 2 3 and other channels not yet stated. Probably these will NZ beam only. Lets hope it makes into orbit. Anybody that has any more on this lets Know.

D1 is delayed till late September.

Optus D1 is on the way to replace B1, It should be up and runing by the end of November with a few extra channels thrown in like 9 and channel 7,plus everything else that was there before.

Testing in orbit just now and likely to move into the next to b1 later this week or next i guess. A 4 week period of testing and changeover from launch is expected.

Good news Optus D1 has finished testing at 164E and is slowly on its way to 160E. It should arrive around mid next week. Then the next step is the transition of services from B1 to D1. I hope to publish the transition details next week.
