hey guys,

i have an echolink 777 fta and i tried to upgrade its software. i tried this using srsupport and i used a DB9 (0 modem) cable. however, when i tried this, i could not get a connection between my STB and PC. i kept getting the message "target is not connected or is in error status". can anyone help me with this problem? i assume i need to upgrade my software in order to enter keys into the reciever.

What uploader did you use?

If you use the 5.1.1 loader You need to turn off the STB connect the cable, Open the loader and press connect. Then turn on the STB. You should then see UPG on the front of the STB and the loader should be connected. Please let me know if this helps or if you are still getting no connection. As the cable maybe the problem.:-)

i did as you said and i still have the same problem. the problem is my PC cant even recognise that the reciver is connected (its not listed on device manager). i tested the cable and its fine, so i dont know what to do. is there a special echolink software that i need to install on my PC so that it can recognise it? what are the COM configurations?

no soft required,its probably com port,need to go to device manager open com port 1 is your putor usb or 232,we need more info to point u in right direction.

i dont understand what you mean by "is your putor usb or 232". what i can tell you is that when i use my old modem, it connects perfectly through COM 1.

Your receiver wont be listed in device manager. the recognition is all done by the upload software. I think you either have the wrong cable or your com port is not configured to com1. What message does the loader give when it cannot connect to the receiver? This may help me identify the problem better.

the message it keeps giving is "target is not connected or is in error status". what cable should i have? i have a null modem cable which the manual said i should get. it connects through RS232 on both STB and PC.

ok reza 1989,
download soft,unzip file,drag to desktop both soft and loader
connect 232 cable to puter and stb,power off stb,double click
loader,left click connect,power on stb,u should then see at top
of loader either b chip or c chip,right click box opens desktop file
left click file and open menu,u should c a tick,press ok u should
see up9 on stb if u dont go to device manager and open com port menu and see which com port you are using to upload its not allways com 1,also try all the above using,com 1,com 2 etc ok

I downloaded 'echolink909fta.zip' again and winzip is still not able to open this file, still get message cannot open file, it seems not to be a valid archive.:-S

i have clone echolink ( mine is univers 4111 )
i flash it with this firm : sw1.3.7_051908

but i don't see tp$ :-S
and when i go in menu - outil => i don't see key editor on my TV :-S

what is the solution :-S
